Many inhabitants of Merica have developed, over time, a quasi-religious relationship with industrial-made items of all kinds from the Predation, constantly repairing them.
- They have sometimes found it particularly difficult (if not impossible) to reproduce or even understand some of them.
- Some technological tools and guns are of recent construction, though they are heavily inspired by salvaged ruined objects.
- Although most of the item names have been passed down from person to person (sometimes a bit distorted), a lot of information is lost to the average person, including the former country of their original maker.
